On this episode of MFP Live, Donna Ladd and Kimberly Griffin speak to La June Montgomery Tabron and Dr. Rhea Williams. La June Montgomery Tabron is the president and CEO of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and Dr. Rhea Williams-Bishop is the director of the Mississippi and New Orleans programs for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. They discussed how the W.K. Kellogg Foundation has not only helped many children within Mississippi through their many programs, but also the vital role that they play in creating equitable communities for families and children to thrive in. They also talked about the power of racial healing and truth-telling within the state and the importance of teaching and learning real history. La June is a graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where she earned her undergraduate degree in business administration, then her Master’s of Business Administration at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. She is a certified public accountant and a certified management accountant. She is the first woman and African-American to be CEO of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Rhea is a three-time graduate of Jackson State University where she earned her undergraduate degree in Urban Affairs, her Master's in Public Policy and her doctorate in philosophy in educational leadership. Rhea was raised in Carthage, Miss. W.K. Kellogg Foundation provides support for the Mississippi Free Press, and Donna Ladd is a former Community Leadership Network Fellow for Mississippi.
